Business at OECD participated in the OECD’s 2025 Ministerial Council Meeting as the institutional private sector voice, calling for effective international cooperation that underpins economic prosperity. Against a challenging background for multilateralism, our statement on Leading the Way emphasises that the OECD must put economic competitiveness at the centre of its deliberations, and urgently reinforce the rules-based international system.
Business at OECD has released a new report analysing the fragmented global ESG landscape. Featuring case studies from BASF, Bayer, and Telefónica, it offers insights into how companies are navigating overlapping standards and regulations. The report warns that this lack of coherence places uneven burdens on businesses. As sustainability disclosures grow in importance, the absence of international alignment creates risks that go well beyond administrative complexity.
The Spring Edition of Business at OECD’s 2025 Economic Policy Survey reveals a decline in business sentiment, with international policy developments emerging as a key source of concern. Geopolitical tensions, rising trade and investment barriers, and ongoing supply chain disruptions are identified as the most significant constraints on business activity and future investment plans.
Business at OECD actively contributed to the OECD 2025 Regional Policy Ministerial Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. Our delegation presented a set of recommendations aimed at unlocking regional potential, underlining the importance of investing in infrastructure, accelerating digitalization, streamlining multi-level governance and regulation, developing regional skills and workforce, and supporting local entrepreneurship and SMEs. Business at OECD looks forward to engaging with the OECD on developing their agenda that will boost competitiveness, foster resilience, and support inclusive recovery.
The B20, Business at OECD, and the International Organisation of Employers have released a joint paper calling for increased capital mobilisation towards African nations through investment-driven strategies. Published in the context of the B20 recommendations handover to the G20, the report highlights that long-term capital, innovation, and active private sector participation are essential to building resilient and sustainable economies across the continent.
