Thailand’s Journey to the OECD: Harnessing AI for Smarter Legal and Regulatory Alignment

This event will demonstrate the use of an AI tool developed to support the Thai government in the OECD's accession process, providing an opportunity to share private sector and government insights on how the use of AI can help accelerate the technical review stage. As an example, there will be a presentation of the project “TH2OECD”, developed in partnership with local Thai companies and Microsoft, which leverages cutting-edge AI models to automate the translation, analysis and comparison of over 70,000 pieces of Thai legislation with the OECD's 250-plus legal instruments. This initiative offers a playbook for governments seeking to capture the promise of AI-powered instruments for legal digitalisation in partnership with the private sector. The presentation of this tool will be followed by a panel discussion on the potential opportunities and risks of the use of AI in legal modernisation and the OECD accession process.
