09:50 - 10:30
Panel 1 - Integrity Under Pressure: Overall Trends in an Era of Global Challenges
In an era marked by heightened geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, and growing public scrutiny, the integrity agenda is facing unprecedented challenges. In response, this session will explore the economic and commercial advantages of strong compliance and integrity systems for both economies and businesses. Using OECD data and insights from its anti-bribery monitoring, it will assess how OECD countries, with a focus on Germany, implement integrity standards. Panelists will also discuss upcoming legislation to strengthen integrity in Germany and the EU, including reforms on corporate liability and the EU Anti-Corruption Directive. This panel brings together experts and practitioners to take stock of recent legislative and overall trends in the integrity space, examine the forces shaping these developments, and explore the implications for governments, businesses, and civil society. How are integrity frameworks adapting to global disruptions? What does safeguarding integrity look like in today’s fractured world?
10:30 - 11:10
Panel 2 - Simplifying for Success: Regulatory Simplification as a Driver of Business Integrity
In many OECD countries, complex and fragmented regulatory environments have long been seen as barriers to business efficiency, innovation, and ethical conduct. As governments and institutions increasingly pursue regulatory simplification, the goal is not only to reduce administrative burdens but also to create clearer, more accessible frameworks that support compliance, transparency, and integrity. This panel explores how regulatory simplification can move beyond cost-cutting to become a powerful enabler of business integrity. How can streamlined regulations reduce opportunities for corruption and foster ethical behavior? How can policymakers and business leaders work together to ensure that simplified frameworks enhance, rather than erode, trust in markets?
11:10 - 11:50
Panel 3 - Harnessing AI and Digital Tools to Combat Corruption
This panel will explore how AI, data analytics, blockchain, and other digital innovations are being deployed to prevent, detect, and respond to corruption across sectors, whilst acknowledging the risk that this type of technology can also be used to commit and facilitate wrongdoing. What are the most promising use cases? And what safeguards are needed to ensure they reinforce, rather than undermine, rights, fairness, and trust? This session will examine how technology can enhance compliance, integrity, and fraud prevention in both the public and private sectors. Using concrete corporate examples as case studies, it will highlight collaboration on tech-driven integrity solutions. Panelists will also discuss challenges and the role of compliance and government incentives in governing emerging technologies.
