On 5 October, Business at OECD and the B7 hosted a business-government dialogue at the OECD, "Securing Critical Minerals: From Analysis to Action", with our member MEDEF, which holds the presidency of the B7, the global business forum to the G7. Speakers from the private sector, governments, and the OECD and the IEA discussed two critical enablers of resilient supply chains: bankability and traceability. Our message was simple: despite strong policy attention, supply concentration continues to rise, and it is time to move from analysis to action. That means building trusted partnerships between producing and consuming economies, improving the bankability of new projects, and strengthening traceability across value chains. As the OECD has a unique role in bringing together like-minded governments and business to advance practical solutions, Business at OECD stands ready to facilitate public-private dialogue and contribute business expertise.
MEDEF's Fabrice Le Saché delivered opening remarks on behalf of the B7.
The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France, Cyrille Pierre, joined the session to open the event on behalf of G7 France.
The OECD's Andreas Schaal also joined opening the event.
The IEA's Tae-Yoon Kim provided a presentation on their work on critical minerals.
