We have released a joint report with the International Organisation of Employers (IOE) with the support of the European Union titled Ensuring Tax Policy Supports Employment. Fiscal policies are important for prosperity, living standards, development, and employment. How governments levy taxes and deliver services can impact job creation and the attractiveness of their countries for investment, business, and employment, even more important at a time of high government debt, rising prices and major economic and employment challenges.
The paper encourages Employers’ and Business Organisations to engage on fiscal policies as leading voices for fiscal reform to boost employment and economic growth. It looks at the impact of national tax systems and government spending on employment, investment, and economic growth, as well as to identify and promote fiscal reforms that boost growth and employment, together with identifying related challenges.
