From 7 to 8 October, Business at OECD actively contributed with a strong delegation to the OECD's Trade Week, including the OECD Global Forum on Trade, the OECD Trade Committee, and the OECD Workshop on the Enabling Environment for Technology Transfer. Our message was clear: resilient economies require stronger industrial capacity, secure supply chains, fair competition, and sustained private-sector investment. Throughout the week, we stressed three priorities: accelerating investment in critical minerals projects to strengthen and diversify supply chains; addressing market-distorting practices while enhancing competitiveness; and promoting risk-based traceability systems that avoid unnecessary burden. These discussions also underscored the importance of moving from analysis to implementation. We look forward to continued engagement with policymakers on practical, market-based solutions that can contribute constructively to the debate on excess capacity and industrial production.
