From 27–29 October, our Chemicals Committee, led by Chair and American Chemistry Council's Jay West, met in Paris and engaged with the OECD Chemicals and Biotechnology Committee. Members called for the OECD's work on plastics and chemical safety to build on existing industry investment and established international standards, avoiding duplication and impractical testing requirements. Priorities also included industry-informed approaches to micro- and nanoplastics, human oversight of AI-based assessments, implementation of the Global Framework on Chemicals and protection of proprietary safety data.
