On 3 February, our Business at OECD Chemicals Committee, led by the American Chemistry Council's Jay West, met to prepare for the upcoming OECD's Chemicals and Biotechnology Committee meeting. Members discussed areas of relevance for business engagement. Discussions focused on the evolution of chemical risk assessment, including New Approach Methodologies, non-animal testing, and the integration of computational models into OECD Test Guidelines. Members also exchanged views on nanoplastics, proposals related to hazard classification under the Globally Harmonised System as well as programme and budget issues, including future work priorities and resource constraints.
