On 15 April, we organised a Special Session with the IEA's Director for Energy Markets and Security, Keisuke Sadamori to brief our members on the global energy market outlook amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The discussion underscored severe supply disruptions, extreme price volatility and uneven regional impacts across oil, gas, and LNG markets, with growing cost pressures on industry and heightened risks for vulnerable economies. Our members highlighted that these developments reinforce the need for robust energy security policies, coherent transition pathways and affordability, as well as careful consideration of competitiveness and long‑term investment signals in an increasingly uncertain geopolitical context.
