On 20 October, our Deputy Executive Director Nicole Primmer spoke at the OECD Data Free Flow with Trust (DFFT) Community Plenary Session addressing business priorities for the OECD’s future work on data governance. Joining the OECD, CSISAC, TUAC, she underlined the importance of transparency, legal certainty, and regulatory coherence of data policy frameworks needed to foster innovation, investment, and economic growth across sectors. As the OECD advances work on data governance and DFFT, business underscores the importance of a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach, and robust multistakeholder dialogue. It will be also important that the OECD’s agenda ensures the continued relevance of the OECD’s key instruments in support of advancing trusted data flows, including the OECD Privacy Guidelines, the Recommendation on Enhanced Access to and Sharing of Data, the Declaration on Trusted Government Access to Personal Data held by Private Sector Entities.
