Business Lobby Urges OECD to Improve Digital Reporting Carveouts

The OECD should raise the proposed threshold at which online sellers are required to comply with digital reporting rules, a leading business lobby said.

Business at OECD, known as BIAC, the main business group associated with the body, recommended setting the low-value goods threshold at €5,000 ($5,831), compared with the OECD’s €3,000 proposal, mainly to protect private sellers of second-hand goods. The current threshold, intended to protect sellers unlikely to have tax liabilities, is set at €2,000.
